From Humble Beginnings To One Of Phantoms Top Distributors

January 15, 2019

In 1994, just two short years after the Rooke family established and brought Phantom Screens to Canada, Tim and Sharon Chamberlain opened Van Isl Roll Screens which soon changed it’s name to Island Screening Systems as their authorized distributor on Vancouver Island. At that time, Phantom Screens only offered a retractable door screen solution but with that product Tim and Sharon grew a very successful business before moving their family to the states in 2003 to take over Minnesota Screens.

Meanwhile in 1999 Jim, Tim’s brother, and Henry, Jim’s father-in-law established and grew Minnesota Screens, the authorized distributor of Phantom Screens here in Minnesota. In 2000 Phantom Screens expanded into the motorized retractable screen market when they acquired Executive Rollscreens of Florida. Jim and Henry were eager to get started and sold dozens in the first few years. In 2003 Tim and Sharon purchased Minnesota Screens and with Henry’s help for the first few years continued to grow that company into what it is today.

Over time Phantom Screens and Minnesota Screens have added several products to their catalog to include; retractable window screens, manual executive screens, a short-lived DIY product, a motorized screen for smaller openings, a new door screen with an ergonomic and intuitive latch system, a motorized clear vinyl system, and most recently a manual wall screen

Over the last 15 years Tim and Sharon have grown an incredible and well-respected company. From humble beginnings to one of Phantom Screens top three distributors in a network of over 160, Tim and Sharon have enjoyed many years and countless partnerships not only with Phantom Screens Manufacturing but with countless builders and customers that they will always cherish and in many cases now call friends.

Beyond being extraordinary distributors and business owners Tim and Sharon have raised 4 wonderful children who have all married and blessed them with 12 incredible grandchildren. Their children have established homes of their own across the U.S which gives them the perfect excuse to enjoy retirement visiting Arizona, Oklahoma, Kentucky and North Carolina.
